Filmed a fail haul video today.
Editing/posting tomorrow. I had super low blood sugar this morning and my brain was FRIED. I have no idea what I said, my hands were shaky and I was totally not tracking with what I was trying to do :P
May have to refilm it lol!
Aussie Curl Definition & Soft Feel Serum
MAC Paint Pot in Constructivist
Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette
Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Curacao:
This stuff is incredible! I had the swatch on my hand for a full three days. I really wish I had taken pictures of it. It lasted perfectly through a full day of shower and swimming pool, plus all my obsessive handwashing, plus another full day and shower. Of course it faded slightly, but this stuff is definitely waterproof.
The applicator works really well and the formula has good colour payoff (it doesn’t hurt to add another layer though). I’m in love with the colour and definitely the sparkles. Love it!
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Natural Mint & Shea Butter:
This was recommended by www.xsparkage.com (my go-to makeup guru and website! I adore her) as a good lip balm. I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would; the texture reminds of Chapstick rather than the sort of liquidy formula you can get with other lip balms in this kind of container. However, it was a little too pricey for me, so I would stick with something more like Carmex if this is the kind of thing you’re looking for. I do love that it has SPF 25 though!
Benefit Face Powder in Dandelion:
Ah! I had really, really, wanted this for awhile, but couldn’t bear to spend the money on it in England. However, buying it in America is faaarrrr cheaper and made me feel a lot better :) This is a perfect shade of pink for my skin colour. It’s very light, has a very tiny gold shimmer to it, and blends in so nicely to the skin. I really like it for an everyday wear and have been using it as such, which is weird for me since I don’t like cheek products unless I’m dressing up, etc.
Travel Brush Roll:
Got this roll with a Crown Brush set. It came with 15 brushes included, so I took the ones that I didn’t already have something of and gave the rest to my mamma. The result is a mix of Sigma, MAC, Mary Kay, Crown, and random brushes :)
Nubar Purple Aster
I got these a few days ago because my Reef Green Nubar polish had left such a good impression on me. I was a little let down with the colours of these, but that was at the fault of the online swatches. They’re lovely colours though and go on really nicely without streaking. I recommend two layers.
Also, because one of the cons of my Reef Green was that it stained my nails pretty badly, DEFINITELY use a base coat with these; I’m not risking have blue stained nails as well.
Hollister Haul (a little late)
This is the stuff I bought a few weeks ago when I went to Hollister and H&M. Never got around to posting it :P
Liquid Soaps: Lagoon, Reflection
Shower Gel: Summer Breeze
Bubble Bath: Vanilla Peach (haven’t had a chance to try this but it smells like heaven!)
Room & Linen Spray: Lemon and Basil, Lavender and Chamomile
There were also two lipsticks, a red and a brown, but the red is UGLY and the brown is meh. That’s what you get for ordering make up from a catalogue and not trying it out in the store lol. Also why I never order things.
Avon & Clothing Haul Tomorrow
Yeah, I know I was supposed to upload the Avon one two days ago, but my BH palette distracted me :) It’ll be up tomorrow, as well as pictures of a bunch of shirts I got today! As well as a minuscule Benefit haul (two things, for real lol).
Toni&Guy Rapid Response Leave-In conditioner
I have a travel size container of this, but it doesn’t have a very good dispenser, so I figure it was about time to buy the full size.
Toni&Guy Beach Curl Spray
I haven’t bought this product before, but I tried it today and it works really nicely. It, like the other Toni&Guy products that I have, doesn’t leave your hair feeling stiff or ‘crunchy’. I’m intending to use it for times when I blow dry my hair and it needs a little extra help from staying unfrizzy.
Toni&Guy Twist-It Curl Balm
Haven’t gotten much of a chance to use it, but it has a very thick consistency and I don’t think I’ll have to use a lot of it for it to work.
Umberto Giannini Curl Friends Natural Curls Styling Spray
This is the travel size of the spray that I use on a daily basis when my hair has air dried. I wanted to have one for my purse so that I can fix my hair while I’m out.
Palmer’s Olive Butter Formula
Travel size container of my favourite hand lotion, but in a more intense formula. I’ll definitely be using this a lot in warmer weather because I get dry skin faster and this fixes it so much faster.
Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Light Moisturizing Day Cream:
I got this because I’m been needing a day cream that has SPF in it (this does, SPF 15) that doesn’t make my skin too shiny. I’ve tried some others, but no matter how little product I use, I still would feel too shiny and I don’t want to have to feel like I need powder on my face. This one is nice and definitely sinks into the skin nicely enough that there isn’t any shine left.
£4.07 at Boots.
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel:
Peel Off Face Mask: I loooove peel off masks! I haven’t tried this one yet, but it comes in a small tube so if I like it enough I can take it with me when I travel.
Spot Wand: (I hate the name of this one lol). This one has a day and a night treatment in the same packaging, which I really like. I also like that it has doe-foot applicators, meaning I don’t have to apply the product with my fingers. I’ve used it already and I actually really like it. Tea tree is amazing for your skin, and this is nice for an affordable but so far well working product.
£6.00 for both products at Boots.
With the lipstick and concealer that I bought earlier, I got a gift set. It came with
- Clinique Superdefense SPF25: Age Defense Moisturizer
- Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream: Rinse-Off Formula
- Clinique High Impact Lipstick SPF 15: 19 Extreme Pink
I haven’t tried any of these products besides the lipstick (which I accidentally squished by not realizing I had pushed it up when the lid was still on. Duh.), which is way too pink for my taste. When I get a chance to try them, I’ll post a quick sum-up of what they’re like.
I first tried this concealer when it came as a free sample with another purchase. It was actually the first concealer that I’ve owned, so initially I was ecstatic about it. When it ran out, I bought a different brand, which now I like better. However, this one has perfect packaging for travelling (it has a brush on it, which means you can’t clean it, but oh well) and doesn’t make my skin feel oily.
£15 at Debenhams
Shade: 04 Neutral Fair
I’ve been using this lipstick for almost a year. It goes on really smooth and has a really glossy look to it. The colour is a nice shimmery brown, but not too powerful. It’s nice for a lot of the looks that I use on my eyes, which tend to be very neutral, but could go with something a little more done up easily.
£15 at Debenhams
Shade: 406 Delovely
Note: These are both more expensive than I would like to spend, but because my skin is picky about what products I use on it, I like to stick with what I know works. For the lipstick, this is the only one that I’ve used all the way down to the last tiny bit, so I feel it’s worth it :)
